Unikai was founded in 1977 when the United Arab Emirates was newly formed and there was a need for high-quality pasteurized dairy products. Unikai was founded and officially opened by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the then-ruler of Dubai, with the goal of providing every home in the United Arab Emirates with exceptional value and quality 

Ever since its inception, Unikai has become a well-known brand that has endured throughout generations, leaving a lasting impression on the country we all call home. In the beginning, it was just a small factory that produced milk, yoghurt, Laban, Areej Fruit Drinks and Ice creams. However, it quickly expanded and became a staple in every home, offering a wide range of products including the well-known Mumtaz Rice,  Meethi Lassi, Unikai Long Life Milk, Flavoured Milk, Ice-creams, Juice Range and much more. Unikai served as a unifying factor as the nation expanded into a melting pot of ethnicities and nations, becoming a household favourite that was favoured by both locals and expats
